SISTER MARION (LADY SAW) MAKES NEW YORK DEBUT THIS WEEKEND!

 Sister Marion—

Though hardcore fans still identify her as Lady Saw, the former dancehall queen is looking forward to making her debut as gospel artist Sister Marion in New York this weekend.

She is scheduled to do three shows alongside Stitchie in New York and Connecticut March 25-27.

The first show takes place at Family Partnership Center in Poughkeepsie, followed by a gig in Hartford, Connecticut at West Indies Social Club on the 26th.

The final show is in the Bronx at Evander High School.

According to Sister Marion, there are no jitters as she prepares to deliver a different type of show.”You don’t know what God has planned. The Holy Ghost may cometh on us. I will just go out and do His work,” she said.

The 43-year-old, who was one of dancehall’s most controversial acts for over 25 years, stated that her conversion to Christianity has made her a better person.

“God is connecting me with the people I am suppose to deal with. Right now I am happy and in peace. I am happy with less than more,” she said.

Douglas Laughman, publicist for the shows, told the OBSERVER ONLINE that he expects a strong turnout at each venue.

“I think more so because it appeals to everyone, not just Christians but everyone who believes that God is real and God is love. So we are just gathering in love to have fun, give thanks together and support Marion and Stitchie.”

Lady Saw was baptised in December at the Emmanuel Apostolic Church on Slipe Road in Kingston.
