SINGER SADIKI TO RELEASE A COLLECTION OF HIS FAVORITE SONGS ON “COVERED IN LOVE!”

 Sadiki—

SINGER Sadiki puts a reggae flavor to some of his favorite pop songs on Covered In Love, his fourth album, which will be released April 15 by Skinny Bwoy Records. Sadiki — who lives in Brampton, Canada — produced the 10-song set which also features singers Helen Rogers and Tony Anthony.

Ed Sheeran’s Photograph, The Spinners’ Sadie, Love Yourself by Justin Beiber, the Billy Preston and Syreeta Wright duet, With You I’m Born Again, and Chris Brown’s Should’ve Kissed You, are some of the songs covered.

“When I decided to do Covered In Love, I sat down for a day and just vibed cover songs from John Holt, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Alton Ellis, Marcia Griffiths and Bob Andy.

One thing that each song had in common was the fact that these great artistes made the songs their own. So I approached Covered In Love the same way,” Sadiki explained.

Saxophonist Dean Fraser, keyboardist Robbie Lyn, bassist Danny ‘Axeman’ Thompson and drummer Kirk Bennett, are some of the musicians who played on Covered In Love.Sadiki is aware that many reggae singers get slapped with the ‘sing-over’ tag due to their habit of covering other artists songs, but is not worried.

“In the last year-and-ahalf I’ve been blessed to have written and produced songs for some tough artists like Chezidek, George Nooks, A J Brown, Twiggi, and Pam Hall,” Sadiki stated.

Born Henry Buckley, Jr in Kingston, Sadiki is best known for the original songs African Queen and Before The Time. His previous albums are Morning’s Come, Lifeline and Jah Is The Only King.
