Just three months after he performed on arguably his biggest stage, at the swearing-in of Prime Minister Andrew Holness at King’s House, Nesbeth has another big date in New York on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30.

Reggae’s latest sensation is set to perform for music fans in the Tri-State area of the United States, which will, for the first time, see him at a live concert at the third annual Oracabessa Festival at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, NY.

Last October, Nesbeth released his hit song My Dream that has skyrocketed to the top of reggae music charts in Jamaica and overseas and has become an anthem. He performed the song before a packed National Stadium at half-time during the World Cup qualifying match between Jamaica and Costa Rica; and even the Costa Ricans, who flew in for the match, sang along.

“The song speaks to people,” Nesbeth said.

He caught the eyes of the organiser of Oracabessa Festival in January, during his stirring performance of the song at the 2016 renewal of Rebel Salute at Plantation Cove in St Ann, where he thrilled thousands of music fans who sang his hit song word for word.

“We are thrilled at Irie Jam Radio, and so is the entire Tri-State area, to have this crowd favourite perform live on stage at the Oracabessa Festival. My Dream is a fan favourite here on Irie Jam Radio and we are excited that we landed him first,” said Bobby Clarke, the man who started the festival three years ago and in that time has a reputation for showcasing the biggest and the best talents out of Jamaica.

Two years ago, Jamaican songbird Tessanne Chin, also performed at the festival.
