SADIKI ADDS NEW TWISTS TO OLD CLASSICS FOR NEW ALBUM!

 Sadiki—

SINGER-PRODUCER Sadiki is looking to impress a diverse audience with Covered In Love, his fourth album, scheduled for release on Friday.

The set, self-produced for his Skinny Boyz Records, hears him covering 10 of his favorite songs from different eras.

They include Love Yourself; originally done by Justin Beiber, Ed Sheeran’s Photograph; Sadie, a 1970s hit for The Spinners; and Book of Rules (with singer Tony Anthony) which was made famous by The Heptones.

Each is done to reggae beats except the acoustic Book Of Rules, which will also be on the Torontobased Anthony’s upcoming album.

“Essentially, we are trying to reach an international audience…reggae, pop. The Japanese love covers so we’re looking at that market as well,” said Sadiki.Several of Jamaica’s top musicians played on Covered In Love, including bassist Mikey Fletcher, guitarist Robert Browne, drummer Kirk Bennett, saxophonist Dean Fraser, and keyboardist Robbie Lyn.

Marvin Weatherspoon, an American keyboardist who records and plays with legendary soul group The Chi Lites, is also heard on the album.
