VETERAN DEE JAY CHARLIE CHAPLIN SHOOTS VIDEO FOR “FREEDOM!”

VETERAN deejay Charlie Chaplin recently shot the video for his latest single Freedom. The single was released a month ago on artiste’s Krown Production imprint.

“It’s [the single] doing well, so we decided to do the video to help getting it out. Remember, if you have two books — one with pictures and the other without — the one with the pictures will be be looked at more,” he told the Jamaica Observer.

To assist with the visuals, Super K Production was contracted and it was shot on location in Kingston. The video is co-directed by Andrew Lee Pryce and Chaplin and slated for release next week.

“The song is about a man and his common-law wife. She says things are hard in Jamaica and migrates to what she feels is greener grass… and the twists and turns that follow,” she said.

Charlie Chaplin, who is principal of Border Patrol Security Company, said this year he’ll be focusing on music.“We want the fans to know we’ll be out it full force. They can expect more visibilty. I also have some overseas shows in the works… Sting Canada is one. So people can look out,” he said.

Charlie Chaplin (given name Richard Bennett) began his career in 1980 with U-Roy’s Stur-Gav sound system. He is known for songs like Que Dem, Off A Shapeand Cry Blood. In 2013, he received an Order of Distinction for his contribution to the development of Jamaican music.
