Mellow Mood’s members are twin brothers Jacopo and Lorenzo Garcia, Giulio Frausin, Federico Mazzolo and Pilippo Buresta.
In an interview with Splash, Frausin and the Garcias spoke about the importance of making an impact in Jamaica.
The 16-track Dub Files At Song Embassy was recorded in a mobile studio at Tavern, St Andrew. It has several collaborations, including Thank You featuring Juba Lion and Boom with Hempress Sativa. The documentary was filmed during recording sessions.
“We invited a host of singers from all over the island and we did interviews with them as well as with ourselves. Every take on the documentary was done in its original form, as we didn’t want it to sound like a reality series,” Frausin explained.
Both documentary and album were produced by the band’s close associate, Paolo Baltini, with assistance from Alfredo Puglin and Mimiina Di Muro.
Dub Files At Song Embassy was recorded and filmed in one year with a budget of 50,000 euros. It will be offically released on April 29 in Europe.
Mellow Mood was formed in Pordenone, Italy in 2005. Four years later, they released their debut album called Move! produced by Baltini. Three years after, they released their second album called
Well Well Well. The band has done several songs with Jamaican artistes, among them Extra Love with Tanya Stephens and Wipe Away featuring Jah9.
