The song comes from Marley’s upcoming self-titled sixth studio album, the follow-up to his 2014 Grammy-award winning LP “Fly Rasta.” For “Ceceil,” Marley points to African music as a particular influence, saying the rhythmic timing was a bit tricky. “Some of the musicians couldn’t get it at first,” he says.

Still, he encourages listeners to take a deeper dive with it. “It’s always more than what’s on the surface, on the first take,” he says.
