Sizzla has broadened his Sizzla Youth Foundation by working with like-minded organizations in the community of August Town.

The Foundation will coordinate with the University of the West Indies (UWI), Social Development Commission (SDC), Citizen Security and Justice Programme, Project Management Institute and the August Town police on several projects.

On May 18, the parties had their first meeting at Sizzla’s Judgment Yard, in August Town. They discussed plans for the 178th Emancipation celebrations.

Representatives from The Prime Minister’s Office, UWI, SDC and the parish council pledged their supportfor this year’s activities, which start June 1.

According to a report by Kenneth Wilson, a spokesman for the Sizzla Youth Foundation, the organisation has had a positive impact on August Town through its Emancipation projects.“The community has recorded a major reduction in crime and violence with no homicides from the start of the year,” Wilson said.

Judgement Yard has been Sizzla’s headquarters for nearly 20 years. It is where the fiery singjay rehearses, films music videos and stages community events.
