ETANA HAD A GOOD 2016, AND IS ALL READY FOR THE NEW YEAR!

Reggae singer Etana is pleased with the progress of her career during a challenging 2016.

She had a successful United States tour, did shows in Africa and tapped into new markets for her unique brand of reggae music.

In September, she gave birth to another daughter, Averie Nina Morris, who weighed nine pounds. She also managed to complete a rigorous but successful weight-loss and training programme to get rid of baby weight she gained in 2016.

“It was tough, but I finally got the weight off. The year 2016 was a great year for me very successful in terms of my music career and my personal life. The year 2017 promises to be even better because I am breaking into new markets such as Australia, where I will be performing for the first time,” she said.

In 2016, she also charted on several ethnic reggae charts with the single, The Way I Are, which is a scathing critique on body modification by women. The song went viral, racking up hundreds of thousands of views online.

With 2017 marking Etana’s 10th year in reggae music, she starts the year touring in the southern Pacific as she will head to Australia for two shows in the major cities of Sydney and Perth in February.

She will also perform at the Ragamuffin Festival in Auckland, New Zealand, on February 18. She has a European club tour between the dates March 16 and April 14, before heading to Panama for a show on April 15. This will be followed by shows in the United Kingdom from May 4 to 7.

Later in the year, Etana will perform at the California World Music Festival on July 13th and the Calgary Festival on August 19th in Canada.

In addition, she said she is also fine-tuning her fifth studio album that will be released during the Summer.
