ROOTS SINGER EDI FITZROY DIES AT 61!
The Jamaican entertainment fraternity is mourning the loss of veteran reggae singer
Fitzroy Edwards, better known by his stage name ‘Edi Fitzroy’ who passed away earlier today. The singer born November 17, 1955, would have celebrated his 62nd earthstrong this year. Born in Chapelton,Clarendon, he has to his credit albums – The Best Of Edi Fitzroy, The Musical Ambassador Years, Peace And Love, We A Lion and Deep In Mi Culture. He best known in the dancehall for popular singles ‘Check For You Once’, ‘Youthman Penitentiary’, ‘We A Lion’ and ‘First Class Citizen’ to name a few, and the all time favorite ‘Princess Black’.
