UPCOMING PROJECTS…ANOTHER SOLO RUN FOR AJ BROWN!

 AJ Brown (David I Muir)—-

Three years ago, AJ Brown joined veteran reggae band Third World following the death of their long-time lead singer Bunny Rugs. Prior to that he had a solid career.

Brown is currently working on a solo album, as well as recording songs for producers Cleveland Browne and Paul Wright. The album, his eighth, is scheduled for release this summer.

Brown, 60, is working on other projects.

“I just did a reggae version of When You Love that’s coming out shortly, and I am also producing for other artists. Look out for (singer) Tamara B’s EP that I worked on,” Brown said in an interview with the Jamaica Observer from his Florida home.

Third World is recording a new album with Damian Marley and Ghetto Youths Productions. It will be Brown’s second album with Third World; the first, Under The Magic Sun, was released in 2014.

“There are at least two songs that I wrote which were selected to be part of the album, along with at least five more which I co-wrote,” he shared.

Brown started his music career during the late 1970’s as a cabaret act at Seawind Beach Resort in his native Montego Bay. His uncle, Lloyd Campbell, was a member of famed vocal duo The Blues Busters.

He made his recording debut in 1980 with the Peter Ashbourne-produced Making Love. Ashbourne also produced Get Up Chant, one of Brown’s early hits.

Later hits include the ballad When You Love, the uptempo My Father, My Friend, and inspirational You Raise Me Up.
