(PAPA) MICHIGAN TO DROP NEW ALBUM IN SEPTEMBER!

 Michigan—

Michigan, formerly of deejay duo Michigan and Smiley, will release his fifth solo album in September. According to the veteran entertainer, it will have 13 songs.“It is one of those albums that I hope will maximize my fan base in Europe and Latin America. I really want it to be one of those projects that Europe is looking for but I am also very popular in the Latino market, so that’s the real target,” he said.

He has high hopes for the songs Dancehall Freaking and All Eyes on Me. According to Michigan, the upcoming album is different from his previous efforts in terms of marketing.

“There are a lot of different producers on this album when compared to the rest. There are producers from South America and other countries; the flow and style is really different,” he said.

Michigan, whose given name is Anthony Fairclough, rose to prominence in the late 1970’s with Errol “Smiley” Bennett.

Their first number one song, Rub A Dub Style, was recorded for Studio One. The follow-up, Nice Up The Dance, was also done for that label.

Other big hits by the duo were No More Uptown Downtown, and Diseases.

They broke up in the late 1980s, but have reunited for shows like Heineken Startime.
