After being honored with a Pop award recently at the 34th annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards in Hollywood, singer Richie Stephens got more good news that he will be honored at 30th annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul (R&B) Music Awards on Thursday, June 22nd at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. The award is for his contribution to Rhianna’s ‘Work,’ which was among the top ASCAP songs on the 2016 year-end charts.

“When it rains it pours” an ecstatic Stephens exclaimed. “I am experiencing a thunderstorm in my career with these two international awards. I am also booked as a headliner with the Ska Nation band for Reggae Sumfest, an event that I have not performed in over a decade. After Sumfest, I travel with the Ska Nation band to Germany to perform at Reggae Jam which will be the first stop on our European summer tour. I thank God for the blessings because without him none of this would be possible” he said.

Speaking about collaborations, Richie has recorded two new songs with Bounty Killer – ‘Luv-A-Dub-Style’ from the new album and ‘Bad Boys In Town,’ which is one of the hottest songs in dancehall right now.

“Richie is always encouraging me to do other types of music” Bounty explained. “He was the first person to get me to sing an R&B song. And if you check back, ‘Maniac’ is like a dancehall, pop rock song. When Richie suggested I do a Ska song, I thought it was a great idea. Music is our first love. He is Richie and I am Rodney Pryce, so when we get together, it is like priceless riches. That is what we add to music.”
