The school boasts state of the art appliances and utensils as well as eight cooking stations.

The aim is to provide a range of courses that range from basic cooking to street food, baking and also children’s cookery.

Venetia Baptise-Reid, the divisional director for commercial services said: “If you love great food, you’ll love our new cookery school.

“This isn’t just about training those in the food industry, and providing a fun learning experience, but it is also about supporting residents.

“As a commercially minded council, we always look at ways we can keep running our most vital services. In this instance, the money generated will help keep our Meals service running.”
