DON DRUMMOND’S “DON COSMIC” ALBUM ENTERS BILLBOARD CHART!

DON Cosmic, an album by influential trombonist Don Drummond, debuts at number three on the Billboard Reggae album chart.

Drummond was a seminal figure behind ska’s evolution and a founding member of the legendary Skatalites. He was the genre’s most prolific composer, with well over 300 songs to his name before his passing in May 1969 at 37.

Don Cosmic was released on July 14 via Studio One. It contains 19 tracks.

One-time sound system selector-turned producer Rory Gilligan of Stone Love Movements earns his second charting album for 2017 .

Rory Stone Love Presents Samory I: Black Gold debuts at number five. Earlier this year, Gilligan’s production of Songs from Zion by Kristine Alicia made the top 10 on the chart.

Black Gold was released July 14 and it contains 13 tracks.

Waves by Tubby Love is the third new entry for the week. The 11-song opus opens at number seven.

Elsewhere on the Billboard Reggae album chart, Chronology by Chronixx spends a second week at number one, while Falling into Place by Rebelution marches up to number two.

Former chart-topper, Know No Better (EP) by Major Lazer falls to four, while the various artistes compilation Soca Gold 2017 slips to eight.

Good Life by Collie Buddz rebounds to number nine, and Live at Red Rocks by Rebelution moves up two spots to number s10.

Avrakedabra by Morgan Heritage marches up to number 11, while Ziggy Marley falls three places to 12 with his self-titled album.

Nothing More to Say by the Frighnrs re-enters at number 13, while tumbling from six to 14 is Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life by Stephen Marley.

A Dollar Short & a Minute Late by Landon McNamara completes the top 15 at 15.

Elsewhere on other Billboard charts, Vybz Kartel’s Fever moves up from 50 to number 40 on the R&B Hip Hop Airplay chart, while Bam by Jay-Z featuring Damian “Junior Gong” Marley falls to number 34. The track peaked at number 21 a few weeks ago.
