FORMER T.O.K MEMBER CRAIGY T, POPS THE QUESTION ON NATIONAL TELEVISION AND SHE SAID YES!

Craigy T, formerly of the dancehall group T.O.K., proposed to his girlfriend on national television on Friday. And she said yes.

The dancehall artist proposed to his girlfriend, Tricia Anderson, during the 1 p.m. airing of TVJ’s Daytime Live, yesterday.

“I have been planning the proposal for awhile. I’ve been doing it for about two months, but I didn’t know how I was going to do it. I had several ideas floating around in my head, and about two weeks ago, I decided on this one,” Craigy T told THE STAR.

Tricia was not surprised that her man popped the question, but she didn’t know it would have happened yesterday.

“Think that it would have happened today, no. Think that it would have happened, yes,” the newly ringed Tricia said.

Very private person

“I’m excited. I’m a little jittery. I have butterflies. I guess it’s a good day,” she said before bursting with laughter. “I’m usually a very private person, and he, himself, is usually a private person as much as he’s into the entertainment business, but he should know his reasons why he did it that way. I’m OK with it.”

Craigy T told The STAR that despite their penchant for privacy, his fiancée deserves it.

“I can’t think of any better way to say it. It’s important for me to show, publicly, my affection for Tricia. I think that far too often artists, especially dancehall artists, portray a different kind of persona – so I wanted to show a different side. We’ve been a couple for about six years now. I don’t know the exact date, to be honest. We don’t really celebrate anniversaries like that, but I suppose we will when we get married.”

“I wanted to show that I am really this and I don’t have to pretend to be nothing else, and that’s what I did. I am confident in the relationship for sure, and so is Tricia. We’ve always been,” Craigy T told THE STAR.

Though their proposal was publicized, the artist assured that this is as bold as it gets. “Don’t think that this is any indication that the entire relationship will be public. It will not be because it’s a private union. It’s a private relationship, as with all of my family dealings. But there are times I want the people to understand that I am a family man. Family is the most important thing to me; it’s my priority. I want them to see that a stable life is cool as well,” Craigy T said.
