JAH9’s COLLABORATION WITH THE MAD PROFESSOR SCORES ON ITUNES CHART!

Jah9’s collaboration with the dub master, The Mad Professor, has scored on the iTunes listing of top 100 reggae albums.

Early yesterday morning, Mad Professor Meets Jah9 in the Midst of the Storm, was at number eight. Of course, tempests are all around the region – Harvey having hit Louisiana and Texas in the USA particularly hard, Irma flaying Barbuda and other Caribbean countries, and a couple weather systems looming on the horizon.

Among the tracks on the set are Lioness Dub, More and More Dub, Moth to a Duband the opening, The I of the Storm/Selassie Dub.

Buju Banton’s Til Shiloh is far from new, having been released in 1995. But while the Gargamel awaits his release, the album, which has a consistent presence on the iTunes listing, has climbed to the number 20 spot.

Marley is a perennial name on the iTunes reggae albums listing, but even by their standards, the number of projects bearing their name is especially striking – especially as it is the father, Bob, and son Damian responsible for all their albums in the top 20. Daddy and the Wailers have Legend (Remastered) at No. two, Legend (Deluxe) at No. 4, Gold at No. 9, Survival (Remastered) at 13, Exodus (Remastered) at 16 and Uprising (Remastered) at 19.

The son’s Stony Hill is at three, Welcome to Jamrock at 10, Distant Relatives (with Nas) at 11 and Half-Way Tree at 12,

Topping the chart is new release, Fabric by The Black Seeds, with Chronixx’s Chronology at No. 5.

Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection holds the No.23 spot and The Harder They Come soundtrack joins the remastered roster to hold the No. 25 slot.

It is a great time for older sets as Black Uhuru’s Red is at No. 31 and the Best of Lucky Dube is at number 36.
