WORLD REGGAE DANCE WINNERS, XQLUSIV, MAKING STRIDES ON THE INTERNATIONAL SCENE!

Following their victory in the World Reggae Dance Competition earlier this year, the Xqlusiv dance crew has been making strides on the international scene.

The dance crew has been working on an upcoming project with Australian music producer, Mista Savona.

Xqlusiv dance crew will be representing Jamaica in an upcoming music video for a groundbreaking project dubbed Havana Meets Kingston. The project will see Savona gathering some of Cuba and Jamaica’s most influential musicians in one recording studio, to create the world’s first full-length album that showcases the sound of both Jamaican and Cuban music.

Havana Meets Kingston has been two years in the making and will be released in two parts once completed. Part 1 is expected to be released in November, while Part Two will be released sometime in 2018, along with a feature documentary.

Sly and Robbie, Bongo Herman, Leroy Sibbles, Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith, Burro Banton, Sizzla and Lutan Fyah, were among the Jamaican musicians who were a part of the project.

The music video which will feature, Xqlusiv dance crew, is for a track from the project called El Cuarto de Tula (Tula’s Bedroom), a reworking of a traditional Cuban song.

The Jamaican footage for the music video was filmed by Marcus Bird in Yallahs, St Thomas. The video will show Xqlusiv dance crew in a fierce dance-off with professional Cuban dancers.The shoot was organised by producer and creative director, Sedon Coke (Zidan Xqlusiv), who is also the crew leader of Xqlusiv.

This is not the first time the local dance group has worked with the Australian producer. Earlier this year, they were also featured in the official music video for the track, No Surrender, by Australian producer Monkey Marc, which was co-produced by Mista Savona.

The dance-focused video showcased Jamaican dancehall dance and garnered a huge response worldwide. It got over 4 million views across multiple platforms.
