CALIFORNIA REGGAE BAND, THE EXPANDERS, SOAR TO NUMBER ONE ON BILLBOARD REGGAE ALBUM CHART!

California reggae band, The Expanders, is number one on the Billboard Reggae Album chart. Their fourth studio release, Old Time Something Come Back Again!! Volume 2, debuts in pole position.

The album was released on September 29 by Easy Star Records. It contains 14 tracks including We Are Free, Life is A Funny Thing and Freedom Train.

Originally from the South Bay area of California, The Enchanteds’ members are John Asher, John Butcher, Roy Fishell, Chiquis Lozoya and Devin Morrison.

This is the second chart-topper for the group. They spent one week at number one in July 2015 with Hustling Culture.

Elsewhere, Damian Marley’s Stony Hill moves up to number two, while Morgan Heritage return to the top five with Avrakedabra, which climbs to number three.

At number four is a new entry, Tricky One (EP) by Filipino-American Eli Mac. The singer, who is from Hawaii, finished ninth in the 2004 American Idol. Born Clara Camile Roque Velasco, this is her second title on the chart, having reached number 10 in 2014 with Dubstop (EP).

Released on September 29 via Ray Jr LLC, Tricky One (EP) contains five tracks including the collaboration Mr. Sensi with Jamaican artist Conkara

Sizzla’s I’m Yours falls to number five after reaching number two last week. Hawaiian surfer-turned-singer Landon McNamara re-enters the lop 10 at number six with A Dollar Short & A Minute Late.

Falling to number seven is Chronology by Chronixx, while new at number eight is Beam of Light by Simpkin Project.

Another new entry, at number nine, is Round the Clock (EP) by former Fortunate Youth member Ryan Gonzo Gonzalez. This is Gonzo’s second ‘charter’, having peaked at number six in 2014 with Red.

Former number one, Falling Into Place by Rebelution, is number 10 while Reggae Gold 2017 stays firm at number 11.

Falling from five to 12 is Super Ape Returns to Conquer by Lee “Scratch” Perry and Subatomic Sound System, while Know No Better (EP) by Major Lazer is number 13.

Veteran British reggae artist Macka B earns his first Billboard title in his over 30-year career. Health is Wealth debuts at number 14. Released by VP Music Group, Health is Wealth contains the collaboration Jah Jah Children with singer Maxi Priest.

Nothing More to Say by the Frightnrs re-enters the chart at number 1
