LOS ANGELES — It’s true!

Asked what his team was doing to stay relaxed before Game 7 of the World Series on Wednesday night, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed that his players were taking the correct measure: Listening to Bob Marley in the clubhouse.

Reggae jams seem certain to loosen up even the most anxious ballplayer, and if and when the Dodgers win the World Series, we will be able to look back with crystal-clear hindsight and know that their secret was chilling out with some catchy island rhythms before the game. If they lose, however, we will know that the Dodgers should have spent less time grooving on Bob Marley classics and more time, I don’t know, studying game film of the Astros or something.

Could the Dodgers be loved, or will they wait in vain as the Astros stir it up, incapable of livelying up themselves, unable to catch a fire? Whether they draw a bad card or finish with positive vibrations, every little thing is going to be alright. Kinky reggae.
