MORGAN HERITAGE BOOKED FOR THE NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE’S ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY!

It’s going to be a reggae Christmas in New York City as Grammy-winning group Morgan Heritage has been booked to perform at the New York Stock Exchange’s annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

Morgan Heritage is the sole Jamaican act booked for the event, set to take place on Wall Street on November 30.

Speaking with THE STAR, Mojo Morgan said fans who come out to the event can expect the group to bring their usual ‘festive vibe’ as they seek to sprinkle some reggae on Christmas in New York.

“Any opportunity we get to showcase Jamaican culture, bringing a positive message to thousands of people, we’re all for it. In a time where people are afraid to get together in large public gatherings because of fear, anytime we get to say ‘hey this is positive, let’s come together and share love’, we’re all for it,” he said.

Mojo Morgan said the group was happy to be a part of the event as the holiday season, for them, signifies getting together and sharing with the ones you love.

As the sole Jamaican act, Mojo Morgan said he believes the organizers decided on them based on the number of appearances they’ve made in the city as well as the work they have put in musically.

“We have had a lot of momentum in New York this year. Our father received the Key to the City of Brooklyn this year. I would like to believe that they (the organizers of the event) saw the work that we’ve been doing and someone put us on their radar,” he said. “They obviously thought it was a good fit to have us, and in a few weeks we’ll be out there in front of a few thousand people. It’s going to be a reggae Christmas.”
