TWO BERMUDANS ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE MURDER OF JAMAICAN MORLAN STEEDE!

The Bermudan police have arrested two suspects in connection with last Friday’s murder of a 30-year-old Jamaican man who reportedly ‘ran for his life’ from a lone gunman who chased him through the back streets of Pembroke parish.

The deceased is Morlan Steede, popularly known as ‘Clappa’, who was married and had a four-year-old daughter.

Steede was shot several times before collapsing in the middle of Parsons Road on the outskirts of Hamilton.

On Wednesday, the police said two local men had been arrested in connection with the murder, which was the country’s third gun killing and fifth homicide overall for the year.

Late last week, the police indicated that they were looking at the possibility that the killing was related to a drug feud.

A man in his early 20s has since been released on bail by the police, while the other man, who is in the mid-20s, remains in custody.

Despite the focus on a possible drug link to the murder, the police have indicated that Steede was not known to them prior to his death, and the development has been labeled as a “senseless killing of a father and husband”.
