Introduced in 1998, the Prime Minister’s National Youth Awards for Excellence was conceptualized to recognize young Jamaicans between the ages of 15 and 29 who have excelled and contributed to national development in various areas. Since its inception, 189 awards have been conferred. This year’s ceremony marks the culmination of the annual Youth Month celebrations, themed ‘Substance Over Hype’, a popular line from Chronixx’s hit track Likes.
