“NINJA MAN IS IN GOOD SPIRIT AND LOOKING FORWARD TO HIS RELEASE” ACCORDING TO FAMILY MEMBERS!

Ninja Man—

Family members of Desmond Ballentine, more popularly known as Ninja Man, say he is doing well.

His nephew, Samuri, told THE STAR that the deejay is in high spirits and recently finished a show for his fans in prison.

“Him a do good man. Him just finish a performance,” he said.

He said that the entertainer is optimistic about coming out in order to continue his work with the Ninja Man Foundation that he started a couple years ago.

“Him is a good yute. Him always a talk about rebuilding Jamaica. A him even help the girl get money so she could be cured of cancer,” said Samuri.

Samuri added that he was proud of his uncle and what he has done for people through his foundation, and he is willing to step up and continue his work.

He also noted that his uncle has inspired him to become a deejay.

Despite his eagerness to be released from prison, Ninja Man and his co-convicts were sentenced to life in prison for the 2009 murder of  Ricardo Johnson in December. The entertainer must serve at least 25 years in prison before he is eligible to be released on parole.

His son, Janeil, and fellow co-convict, Dennis Clayton, will each have to serve 15 years behind bars.

Meanwhile, Samuri said that in order to keep the foundation alive, the family plans to host events to raise funds.

“Right now, every last Saturday we have a party planned. We even a try put on a soca party inna March. We have a cook out planned and couple parties called ‘In Di Streets’ and ‘Bad Inna Black, Pretty in Pink’,” Samuri said, noting that the events will be held the last Saturday of every month.
