BUNNY Wailer will be the recipient of this year’s IRIE FM’s Lifetime Achievement Award. The event, which is in its second staging, is scheduled for Bournemouth Beach Park Complex in Kingston on February 11, 2018.

Programm manager at the station, Ka’Bu Ma’at Kheru explained why the veteran reggae singer was selected for the honor.

“He fits perfectly into the criteria agreed by the awards committee which calls for the recognition of a Jamaican entertainer distinguished by a body of work that demonstrates outstanding and exceptional leadership, dedication and achievement nationally and globally. The recipient is required to have contributed to the growth of the music industry and should also be dedicated to community and national development. The contribution of the Honorable Bunny Wailer to the development of reggae music is undeniable,” Kheru told the Jamaica Observer.
