TRINIDAD & TOBAGO POLICE DENY INVOLVEMENT IN MURDER OF JAMAICAN MAN!


Trinidad and Tobago’s Acting Police Commissioner Stephen Williams has denied any police involvement in the murders of three men, including a Jamaican national. The police have called on the coalition People’s Partnership government to consider a state of emergency in the volatile Laventille area, along the east-west corridor. Police public relations officer, Inspector Wayne Mystar, says the Besson Police Station came under fire hours after the three men, including Sherwin Thomas of Jamaica had been shot and killed. He says preliminary investigations have shown that those involved in the killings were not a part of law enforcement and that witnesses have been interviewed. YUNG JR COMPILES TRACKS FOR NEW EP “START THE MOVEMENT!”

 Yung JR– YUNG JR is compiling tracks for his EP Start the Movement which he co-produced with Adonui Reid. “As the name suggest, Start The Movement is not just a musical project but also a movement of a new upright revolution that seeks to enlighten the people spiritually and physically,” he told Splash. “It is also a mixture of different genres and styles displaying my versatility.” One of the singer’s favourite songs on Start The Movement is General which addresses the plight of youth living in so-called garrison communities. Filmed entirely in New York City last year, the movie had its American premiere at Sunrise Multiplex Cinemas in Valley Stream, Queens, New York. Recording artist Versatile donated new HP computers to the Boundbrook Primary School, Portland, recently. A past student of the school, he thought it his duty to give back. “That is where mi start deejay some a mi first songs and was given the encouragement to be who I am today. Then, I was only a little boy name Little Shotta, who dreamed to be an artist,” Versatile said. JAMAICAN MAN ACCUSED OF INFECTING CANADIAN WOMEN WITH HIV FIGHTS EXTRADITION!

A Jamaican man who Canadian authorities are contending infected five women in that country with HIV is fighting his extradition. He is wanted by the Canadian authorities to face charges of aggravated sexual assault. It is being contended that while he was living in Canada in the late 1990’s he had sexual intercourse with the women knowing that he was HIV positive. Last month, he was ordered extradited after a hearing in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court. He has taken the matter to the Supreme Court seeking a writ of habeas corpus for his immediate release. The matter came before Justice Glen Brown this morning but was put off to next Tuesday to give his lawyer, Donovan Foote, sufficient time to join the Commissioner of Corrections as a defendant in the matter. Billboard says Streisand’s latest release, Partners, debuted on top of the charts, making her the only recording artist to issue No 1 albums in six consecutive decades. The 72-year-old singer thanked her fans in a statement Wednesday, saying she appreciates their energy and support. Partners, which hit stores last week, is a collection of duets featuring such talents as Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Michael Buble and John Mayer.
