NEW TRIAL DATE, DECEMBER 8, FOR BOB MARLEY’S GRANDSON ON GUN CHARGES!

Matthew Prendergast— KINGSTON, Jamaica – A December 8 trial date has been set for Matthew Prendergast, the grandson of reggae legend Bob Marley. The date was set after the court was told that some witness statements are still outstanding. The charges against Prendergast resulted from an altercation with a security guard at the Bob Marley Museum on Hope Road in St Andrew. He is alleged to have pointed a gun at the security guard on April 5. A firearm has not been recovered. Prendergast is currently on J$200,000 bail. Prendergast, 25, is a musician reportedly based between Miami and Jamaica. He is charged with illegal possession of a firearm and assault at common law. CONSPIRACY CASE AGAINST VYBZ KARTEL AND GAZA SLIM DROPPED, FOR NOW!

Vybz Kartel – File By Barabara Gayle– KINGSTON, Jamaica: State prosecutors have, for now, dropped the conspiracy case against convicted entertainer Adidja ‘Vybz Kartel’ Palmer and Gaza Slim. Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Paula Llewellyn this morning entered what is called a nolle prosecqui, officially informing the Corporate Area Criminal Court that the Crown was no longer pursuing the case. Kartel and Gaza Slim, whose given name is Vanessa Saddler, were charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice. Andre Henry, alias ‘Pim Pim’ was also charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice. The possibility of the case being withdrawn was hinted at on Monday, when the case came up for mention and the DPP requested time to consider her options including a request from defense lawyers to discontinue the case. HOME DEPOT HACK IS LETTING CRIMINALS DRAIN MONEY FROM PEOPLE’S BANK ACCOUNT!

(Reuters) – Data breach at home improvement retailer Home Depot Inc has led to fraudulent transactions across the United States, draining cash from customer bank accounts, the Wall Street Journal said. Criminals are using stolen card information to buy prepaid cards, electronics and even groceries, the Journal said, citing people familiar with the matter. Financial institutions also are stepping up efforts to block the transactions by rejecting them if they appear unusual, the daily said. Earlier this month, Home Depot confirmed its payment systems were breached and said some 56 million payment cards were likely compromised in a cyberattack at its stores, suggesting the hacking attack at the home improvement chain was larger than last year’s unprecedented breach at Target Corp . Bronte James and wife, Elisa James, started the reggae band Afro Omega in 2002. Four children and 12 years later, the couple is still performing at concerts and has recently finished a new album. However, their music came to a halt when Bronte began having severe stomach pain and was eventually hospitalized in March. Doctors at LDS Hospital found a perforation on Bronte’s colon, but at first were unsure of what had caused it. His self-produced single — Crying Over You — has found its way on the playlist of several radio stations. However, he feels it deserves more airtime. “It is being played, I’ve heard it.
