SCHEDULE CONFLICT FORCES T.O.K’S CRAIGY-T TO DROP OUT AS JUDGE ON JAMAICA’S “DIGICEL RISING STARS” COMPETITION!

Craigy T— CRAIGY T, of dancehall quartet T.O.K, will not be a judge on this season’s Digicel Rising Stars due to conflict in his tour schedule. “Yeah, I’m kinda bummed about not being able to finish the season. I love working with new talent. However, it just couldn’t be avoided. With my schedule coupled with T.O.K’s calendar, I would miss about 10 of the 12 live performance shows. That wouldn’t make sense. LEGENDARY SOUL SINGER BOBBY WOMACK DIES AT 70!

(June 27, 2014) We are extremely sad to report that legendary singer and songwriter Bobby Womack has died after a lengthy series of illnesses.  There had been false rumors of his death for a week on the internet but it appears that Mr. Womack died this morning. One of the most enigmatic and talented Soul men of all time,  Womack was a sort of Soul Forrest Gump, serving as a link from 50s Gospel to 60s Soul to 70s Rock and to some of the greatest musicians in each genre. NATURE’S “NO GUNS AROUND” GAINING MOMENTUM ON INTERNATIONAL CHARTS!

Currently riding the charts with his latest tracks, Retarded and No Guns Around, reggae singer Nature turned in a scintillating performance at the Calabash International Literary Festival at Jakes, Treasure Beach, May 30 – June 1. The Downsound Records artiste effectively used his three-quarter hour on stage to tune up for Reggae Sumfest 2014 set for next month in Montego Bay. JAMAICA IS SOUTHWEST AIRLINES’ FIRST INTERNATIONAL DESTINATION!

  KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica will be the first of three international destinations to receive flights from Southwest Airlines when the carrier begins international operations on July 1. The first of three flights scheduled to arrive at the Sangster International Airport, Montego Bay on the inaugural day will carry officials from Southwest as well as media personnel. Was this really what reggae had come to – songs showing a near-total lack of creativity, with vulgar and derogatory messages?  Gordon, a Jamaican media expert living in New York, decided to do something about the issue.
