ROOTS ARTIST ANTHONY B, PROMOTING NEW SINGLE “BAD MIND!”

 Anthony B—- Almost 20 years after emerging with the anti-establishment song Fire Pon Rome, sing-jay Anthony B remains one of reggae’s most potent acts. The roots artist is pushing Bad Mind, the third single from his latest album, Tears Of Luv, and is preparing for another set of overseas dates. LAWYER GLORIA DE CLOU, ADVISES ARTISTS TO “READ THE FINE PRINT!”

 Gloria De Clou— LAST year, some well-known Jamaican artists ended up in Trinidad’s courts for breaching contracts with show promoters in that country. It cost the artists, Anthony B, Jah Cure and Busy Signal, a pretty penny. Gloria De Clou, a Kingston attorney, says entertainers should be more responsible when it comes to dealing with contractual matters. “They need legal advice. They need proper advice before they sign any document,” she told the Jamaica Observer. De Clou, who is from Guyana, has been a general practitioner for 10 years. She worked in the attorney general’s office before going into private practice.She has advised several Jamaican artists including Carl Dawkins as well as Kingston Music Institute, a management company out of Canada. HISTORY MAN SPREADING THE WORD ON EUROPEAN TOUR!

 Informative Historyman— FOR over 40 decades, the roots-reggae banner has held sway in Europe. The music of legends like Bob Marley and Burning Spear may still dominate the airwaves, but ‘warriors’ like the Informative Historyman keep the flame burning in the underground. ‘Historyman’ recently returned to Jamaica from a month-long tour that saw him performing in Europe, as well as Israel and Colombia. ANTHONY B’s 12th ALBUM,”TEARS OF LOVE” TO BE RELEASED JULY 23!

Speaking with Sunday Observer, the singjay said he wants it to reach a younger generation. “Reggae music needs an album similar to Buju Banton’s ‘Til Shiloh; we need a landmark. Bob Marley and other icons did it, but right now we don’t know where the music is going,” he said. SINGER YAMI BOLO RETURNED TO THE UK AFTER TEN YEARS!

 Yami Bolo— YAMI Bolo is one of many artists who were mentored by roots visionary Augustus Pablo. Fitting, then, that on his return to the United Kingdom after 10 years, he performed alongside Pablo’s son Addis. Bolo and Addis Pablo’s Suns of Dub group (which includes Trinidadian singers Jah Bami and Ras Jammy) did six shows in the UK, which took place in Newcastle, Nottingham and London. The main event was Kulchasplash on Easter Monday at the Electric Brixton club. Anthony B and Jah9 were also on the card. “Things went down well, everyone was well-received,” said Bolo. BURMUDAN-BORN ROOTS SINGER MAGMA STEPS INTO KINGSTON’S SPOTLIGHT!

 Magma— ELEVEN years after moving to Jamaica, Bermudan roots singer Magma steps into the spotlight at the Countryside Club in Kingston next Thursday. It is where the lanky Rastafarian launches The Mission, his debut album. Magma has recorded for noted producers since settling in reggae land. Among them, Downsound Records’ Josef Bogdanovich, Paul Lowe-Chin and veteran session guitarist Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith.
