The 62-year-old artist who is known for songs such as Gospel Bells,Thank You Lord For Your Blessings died from acute leukemia. Her husband Hector Lewis told The Gleaner that his wife contracted the chikungunya virus (chik-V) in September, just before she left for England to do some shows. “She had to cancel everything, the chik-V worsened her condition and she was hospitalised for two weeks,” he said. Jones returned to Jamaica at the end of September where she got the official news from her doctor that it was now acute leukemia.
