BERES HAMMOND & MONTY ALEXANDER HEAD TO NEWARK AND BROOKLYN FOR “REGGAE JAZZ FEST!”

With Festival season in full effect Jammins Events has planned a fest of their own, “Reggae Jazz Fest”. A two day, two city festival for all jazz and classic reggae lovers alike. The “Reggae Jazz Fest” will include a live performance from Reggae Legend, Beres Hammond and his House of Harmony band along with the performance of a lifetime from Reggae-Jazz pianist Monty Alexander. REGGAE MEETS JAZZ IN BROOKLYN AUGUST 1!

(R) Beres Hammond.— REGGAE Jazz Fest, a show with Monty Alexander and Beres Hammond, is part of the comeback season for the storied Kings Theater in Brooklyn, New York. The show is scheduled for August 1 when Jamaicans celebrate Emancipation Day. Built in 1929 as the Loew’s Kings Theatre, it was a popular spot for vaudeville and movie-goers before closing in 1977. It re-opened in February after renovation of almost US$100 million with a concert by Diana Ross. The theater is located at Flatbush Avenue, home to a massive Jamaican community. PATRICIA CHIN OF VP RECORDS GETS A LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD!

 Pat Chin (second left) Patricia ‘Miss Pat’ Chin, widow of Vincent Chin and co-founder of VP Records, received the Lifetime Achievement Award Thursday night at the Libera Awards in New York. Chin is the first female recipient of the award, presented by the American Association of Independent Music (A2IM). She gave an emotional acceptance speech at the Highline Ballroom. “I am honored to be the first female to receive such a prestigious award. Words cannot truly convey my feelings. BERES HAMMOND KICKS OFF HIS EUROPEAN TOUR JUNE 26!

 Beres Hammond—- WITH hit songs aplenty, it is no surprise Beres Hammond is one of reggae’s in-demand performers. Currently working on a new album, the evergreen singer is scheduled to kick off a European tour in a matter of days. Hammond has club and festival dates slated for Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Finland. That all changed 30 years ago, thanks to an uptempo track named What One Dance Can Do.
