Despite the number, the Organic H.E.A.R.T. group of companies, organizer and main financial sponsor of the annual event, believes that the two-day event deserves more corporate support. STEPHEN MARLEY CONFIRMS NEW BOB MARLEY ALBUM FOR 2017!

 Stephen Marley— From: Urban Islandz Stephen Marley has confirmed that a new Bob Marley album is coming in 2017. The project will be a sequel to the reggae legend’s 1999 classic “Chant Down Babylon.”  The landmark project saw Bob collaborating with some big names in Hip Hop. But this new project, which is set to get underway at the top of the year, will not be an urban album, according to Stephen. He spoke exclusively with the Jamaica Observer last weekend. “If is one thing I know, my mother is a strong, strong woman. She is doing much, much better and is in Florida with (my sister) Cedella and other family members,” he said. A former member of the sibling group the Melody Makers, Cedella Marley is CEO of the family-owned Tuff Gong International. THE MARLEY FAMILY DONATES DRUMS TO CHARLIE SMITH HIGH SCHOOL IN TRENCH TOWN!

 The Marley family presented instruments last Friday to Charlie Smith Comprehensive High School in Trench Town. From left: Ackelie Burrell (teacher at Charlie Smith), Queshane Burke (student), Sherone Parsons, head of the Charlie Smith music programme, percussionists Bongo Herman and Maroghini. Ziggy Marley has donated instruments to Charlie Smith Comprehensive High School. The presentation was made last Friday at the school in Trench Town in Kingston. Sherone Parsons, head of the school’s music program, was presented with six drums (bass, repeaters, fundes), two flutes and tambourines by veteran percussionist Herman “Bongo Herman” Davis and Ali Cole (representing the Marleys) and percussionist Maroghini. STEPHEN MARLEY HEADS THE LINEUP FOR TRIBUTE CONCERT AT THE BOB MARLEY MUSEUM!

Acts Uprising Rootz Band, Dre Island, Kelissa, Black Hero, Felukè, and Stephen Marley are among several performers set to take to the stage at the Bob Marley Museum in St Andrew for a free-to-the public jam session. Stephen Marley said the historical nature of the event cannot be overemphazised. SUGA ROY TO RELEASE TRIBUTE ALBUM, “HONORING THE KINGS OF REGGAE” NOVEMBER 4!

 Zareb, Suga Roy and Conrad Crystal— November 4 is the official release date for Honoring The Kings of Reggae, a tribute album produced by deejay Suga Roy. The 19-song set includes covers of classic reggae songs such as Shantytown by Desmond Dekker and Bob Marley’s So Much Trouble. The latter is done as Trouble by Suga Roy, Sizzla, Jahmali, Conrad Crystal, and Zareb. “Is my favorite Marley song; anywhere in the world mi go mi perform it,” said Suga Roy. The House of Riddim Band from Austria, drummer Kirk Bennett, guitarist Winston ‘Bo Pee’ Bowen, and bassist Danny Dennis of the Firehouse Crew played on Trouble. A MUSEUM TO HONOR PETER TOSH, OPENS IN KINGSTON OCTOBER 19, HIS BIRTHDAY!

 Peter Tosh—- A MUSEUM dedicated to life and works of late reggae singer Peter Tosh will be opened on the grounds of Pulse Model Agency on Trafalgar Road in St Andrew, on October 19. The project is a joint venture among Pulse; the Tosh Estate; and Marlene Brown, Tosh’s partner at the time of his death. Most of the exhibits are from mementos saved by Brown, who was also closely involved with Tosh’s business life. “Mi know the value of Peter Tosh, that’s why mi work for him and devote my life to him,” Brown told the Sunday Observer recently.
