 Brian Gold— IN 2006 Brian Gold experienced a spiritual awakening which he credits with expanding his world view. He realiZed there was much more to life than the material things he enjoyed. Tomorrow, the 47-year-old singer continues to project the Rastafarian faith he embraced 10 years ago in One Perfect Love, a concert at Redbones Blues Cafe in Kingston. “Since wi entered the Nyahbinghi House it’s been a different phase. TONY GOLD IS BACK WITH “ROCK ME BABY!”

  In 1986 Patrick Anthony Morrison, an aspiring singer who had grown up in Porus in the parish of Manchester, Jamaica, took the second prize in the Tastee Talent contest. Brian Thompson took the first. Admiring each other’s skills, the two young men decided to form a vocal team, and the world got Brian and Tony Gold, one of Jamaica’s most prolific duos giving us hits such as ‘Bullseye’, ‘Poisin’ with Dennis Brown, ‘Irresistale’, ‘Compliments’ with Red Dragon and the timeless ‘Can You’. REMEMBERING RED DRAGON!

 Red Dragon (Photo: Reggaeville)— THE community of Whitehall Avenue along the Red Hills Road in St Andrew was arguably the hottest spot in 1980’s dancehall. Deejay Red Dragon was one of the artists responsible for that. Red Dragon (given name Leroy May) died at the University Hospital of the West Indies on July 31 at age 49. His older brother, deejay Michael ‘Flourgon’ May, told the Jamaica Observer that Red Dragon had been admitted to hospital the previous day. Flourgon did not give the cause of death, but said ‘Dragon’ had suffered from hyptertension and heart problems. “The last time I si him was three weeks ago, an’ him neva feel good.
