OSCAR B OF BYRON LEE & THE DRAGONAIRES FAME, RELEASES NEW SINGLE “DOH WORRY BOUT DAT!”

 By Kevin Jackson—  Oscar B— Soca star Oscar B, who sang with Byron Lee and the Dragonaires for a number of years, has a new song out called Doh Worry Bout Dat. It features the Vibes Band and Ziggy Ranking. The Tobago-born artist has big plans for the song at next year’s Trinidad Carnival. Born Oscar Benjamin, the burly singer has been recording and performing professionally for 25 years. In addition to the Dragonaires, he sang with the Star Flash, Black Sheep and Blue Ventures bands. While with the Dragonaires, Oscar B sang lead on hit songs such as Soca Tatie and Soca Butterfly. These days, Oscar B fronts the T&TEC Gaytones. … Read entire article »

COURTNEY ROBB OF BYRON LEE & THE DRAGONAIRES FAME, IS RECOUPING AFTER HEART FAILURE!

 COURTNEY Robb Snr— COURTNEY Robb Snr, former bass player of Byron Lee & The Dragonaires, is recovering at his Florida home after suffering from congestive heart failure last month. “I went in for congestive heart failure, but the doctors found out that I had fluid on my lungs. After much medication, I am doing pretty well. Now that the fluid is off my lungs, I am breathing much better,” Robb told the Sunday Observer. The musician said he was hospitalized for three days. Robb has been battling with health issues since 2005 when he suffered renal failure. He, however, received a successful kidney transplant in 2010. He currently serves as a bass player at the Palm Bay Methodist Church in Florida. The bassist was an integral part of Byron Lee & the Dragonnaire’s for 35 years. “The … Read entire article »
