TASTE THE ISLANDS-SEASON 2, ON PBS-TV, LOOKING AWESOME FOR ITS JUNE LAUNCH!

Public television’s Caribbean culinary series “Taste the Islands” is slated for a June 2017 release, and thanks to the show’s Season 2 underwriting partners – Barbados, Grace Foods, Lakay Foods, Caribbean Airlines and Wright Style Clothing, production has been completed. However in the last few weeks before delivery, the producers have initiated a crowdfunding campaign on the Indiegogo platform to help raise funds needed to cover the last of the show’s broadcast expenses. CARIBBEAN-BASED PROGRAMS HIT PRIMETIME-TV IN SOUTH FLORIDA, DECEMBER 7!

Starting Monday, December 7th, a block of family-friendly Caribbean lifestyle programming will begin primetime broadcast on South Florida’s BECON-TV (Channel 63 / Comcast 19). Two English-speaking series called Island Stylee and Island Origins will be aired on Mondays from 9:30 – 10:30PM with repeats on Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8:30 – 9:30PM. THE JAMAICA DIASPORA LEGACY FOUNDATION LAUNCHES NEW EFFORTS AND NEW WEBSITE!

    Jamaicans in South Florida can look forward to a new Cultural Center for their community in the coming years. The Jamaica Diaspora Legacy Foundation (JDLF), a non-profit organization formed in 2012, is gearing up to begin major fundraising efforts toward the building of the Jamaica Cultural and Resource Center. The multifunctional facility to be constructed in Broward county, will accommodate cultural events and activities, meetings and social gatherings particularly for the Jamaican community and the several organizations within the community.
