TASTE THE ISLANDS-SEASON 2, ON PBS-TV, LOOKING AWESOME FOR ITS JUNE LAUNCH!

Public television’s Caribbean culinary series “Taste the Islands” is slated for a June 2017 release, and thanks to the show’s Season 2 underwriting partners – Barbados, Grace Foods, Lakay Foods, Caribbean Airlines and Wright Style Clothing, production has been completed. However in the last few weeks before delivery, the producers have initiated a crowdfunding campaign on the Indiegogo platform to help raise funds needed to cover the last of the show’s broadcast expenses. Their crowdfunding pitch includes details from the show’s Executive Producer about the struggles they went through to bring the series to air in Season 1. NEW YORK CITY MAYOR BILL de BLASIO, BRINGS HIS “SWAGGER” TO THE GRACE JAMAICAN JERK FESTIVAL!

New York’s largest Caribbean food event, the Grace Jamaican Jerk festival was jam-packed with entertainment for everyone including New York’s Mayor Bill de Blasio and First Lady Chirlane de Blasio who attended the event (July 19) at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens. Mayor de Blasio defended the Celebrity Quick-Fire Challenge title he won in 2013. “TASTE THE ISLANDS WITH CHEF IRIE” GOES NATIONAL ON PBS-TV!

  PBS viewers across the United States will be invited to savor the flavors of the Caribbean when, beginning in April 2015, they can “Taste the Islands with Chef Irie.” From preparing homemade spicy jerk seasoning to Latin inspired mussels chorizo in mango coconut sauce, Jamaican-born host Chef Irie will tantalize viewers with traditional and gourmet Caribbean recipes. Programming nods from more than 130 PBS stations around the country will make “Taste the Islands with Chef Irie,” a seven-part series, the first Caribbean cooking show and the first Jamaican-produced series to be aired nationally on the PBS network.
