 Artist J Capri will be buried on December 14.— In addition, a wake is planned for Little Copa in Bull Bay, St Andrew, this Saturday. “We want both the wake and thanksgiving service to be a joyful occasion. My daughter was a happy soul and we want to always remember her for that,” Kenneth Phillips, father of the late artiste, told the Jamaica Observer. Monday’s service will feature live performances from singers Chris Martin, Alaine, and Cherine Anderson. Based on the success of the trip, Cherine, who has a new album coming out soon, could find herself tapping into that market where her brand of positive reggae dancehall-soul music seems to have found a new home. Cherine and her six-member band made their first trip to the African continent, having been invited to perform at the 15th edition of the Arts Alive Festival in Johannesburg, where other artistes, including Jah Vinci, also performed. The 15-song compilation has songs from a number of artists such as T.O.K, Shaggy, No-Maddz, Richie Stephens, Romain Virgo and Maxi Priest. Drummer Sly Dunbar and his longtime musical partner, Robbie Shakespeare, were drafted into the project by Spicy Chocolate.
