Veteran sound engineer Delroy Thompson— VETERAN sound engineer Delroy Thompson (aka Spider) died Wednesday morning at age 63. According to Sabrina Edwards, a relative, he died at the Annotto Bay Hospital in St Mary of complications from a heart attack and stroke. In a Facebook post, music producer Gussie Clarke said Thompson was ‘the master of mastering and his experience is irreplaceable and invaluable’. Thompson was employed to Clarke’s Anchor recording studio since 2009. He had previously worked at Dynamic Sounds and Tuff Gong in Kingston. During his long career, Thompson worked with countless brand artists led by Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, Dennis Brown and Alton Ellis.
