DANCEHALL ARTIST DEXTA DAPS, FREED OF CRIMINAL CHARGES IN MONTEGO BAY!

 Dexta Daps— Dancehall artist Dexta Daps was on Wednesday freed of criminal charges when he appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court. His co-accused Essan Richards was also freed. Dexta Daps, whose given name is Louis Grandison, was charged on April 27 at the Sangster International Airport following a scuffle with a group of police officers, videos of which went viral on social media. He was charged with assault occasioning grevious bodily harm, resisting arrest, and using indecent language. Both men were freed after attorney Peter Champagnie pointed out certain circumstances of the case to the court and suggested the may be dealt with through mediation. Following a brief adjournment of the case, the prosecution announced it would not continue with the prosecution of the men and that all parties opted for mediation. DJ TIGER GIVES OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE IN FIRST OUTDOOR CONCERT IN NEW YORK CITY IN 22 YEARS!

Veteran dancehall DJ Tiger, who over the Labor Day weekend made his first outdoor festival appearance in NY since he was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident 22 years ago, proved that a cat does indeed have nine lives. The DJ was one of more than a dozen dancehall stars who performed at the successful Irie Jam Radio 22nd anniversary concert which was held at Roy Wilkins Park in NY. By Horace Hines—  Dexta Daps— MONTEGO BAY, St James — Dancehall singjay Dexta Daps had his bail extended again when he appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court yesterday. The entertainer, whose given name is Louis Grandison, is facing charges of obstructing the police; the use of indecent language; resisting arrest; and assault occasioning bodily harm, following an altercation he had with the police at the Sangster International Airport in St James, on April 27. The matter has been adjourned until November 18. The judge ordered that the three absent witnesses, who are all cops, be present when the matter is again called up in November. By Horace Hines—  Dexta Daps—- DANCEHALL singjay Dexta Daps had his bail extended when he appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court yesterday. The entertainer, whose given name is Louis Grandison, is facing charges of obstructing the police; the use of indecent language; resisting arrest; and assault occasioning bodily harm, following an altercation he had with the police at the Sangster’s International Airport in St James, on April 27. Resident Magistrate Natalie Hart-Hines adjourned the matter until Tuesday, June 9, to allow for the collection of “corroborating officer’s statement”. Dexta Daps is represented by attorney-at-law Peter Champagnie, who told the Jamaica Observer that his client’s plea will be an emphatic “not guilty”. The 28-year-old is booked to answer four charges relating to an incident involving lawmen at the Sangster International Airport in the second city on Monday.
