Dexta Malawi— UP-AND-COMING singer Dexta Malawi has completed the filming of his latest music video Put On Ya Turban. Recorded on New Zealand-based label The Nomad Music, the video is slated to be released this month. Put On Ya Turban, a tribute to the Bobo Shanti order of Rastafari, chronicles the artist’s spiritual journey. “This song depicts some of the journeys and challenges of a Bobo Shanti in his aim to exist in righteousness, to promote education and repatriation, to preserve African heritage and to enjoy and preserve nature’s magnificence,” the 27-yearold told the Jamaica Observer. In addition to Bobo Shanti, the other Rastafari orders include Nyahbinghi and Twelve Tribes.
