By Kevin Jackson— Maxi Priest— It has been a while since British reggae singer Maxi Priest entered the Billboard charts. His new album, Easy to Love, which was released July 1 by VP Records, debuted at number two on the Billboard Reggae Album chart. It is Priest’s first entry on any Billboard chart in 15 years. His last entry was 1999’s album Combination which peaked at number five on the publication’s reggae table. Easy to Love, which has 11 tracks, sold 1,169 copies in its first week, according to sales tracker Nielsen Soundscan. It features collaborations with deejay Agent Sasco and Beres Hammond. Producers who worked on the album include Steven ‘Lenky’ Marsden, Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith, Clive Hunt, Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare.
