REBEL SALUTE TAKES AN INCLUSIVE APPROACH IN SELECTING PERFORMERS FOR THE TWO-DAY EVENT!

  New York-based reggae singer Ed Robinson is without a doubt one of the best voices in Reggae music today. The veteran entertainer who made his breakthrough in the early 1990’s with a highly acclaimed cover of Bob Dylan’s Knocking’ On Heaven’s Door is in the spotlight once again. ED ROBINSON TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE “THE BLAME GAME” JULY 8!

 Ed Robinson— Singer Ed Robinson returns to the music scene with The Blame Game, which he believes is one of his best songs to date. It was co-produced in 2009 by Steely and Clevie, shortly before Steely’s death that year. Luciana Maneri, Robinson’s manager, is also a co-producer. “I’m not one of those musicians who like to beat my chest and say that every song I make is going to be a hit. I just like to make the music as best as I can for the people. After it’s released, it’s up to them to decide if it’s a hit,” said Robinson. The Blame Game is scheduled to be released on July 8. SoNIA RETURNS WITH NEW SINGLE “I AM NOT YOUR HELPER!”

SoNia Williams has released her latest single, I Am Not Your Helper. Produced by Kenneth Llewellyn for the Kapras label, it is distributed by VP Records. The singer, who has a degree in medical technology, was once a member of Byron Lee and the Dragonaires. Originally from Mandeville, SoNia grew up in St Elizabeth. She migrated to the United States 31 years ago. “When I moved to America I continued singing, but after a while I kind of slowed down a bit in order to raise my children. When you get married and you have a family, things change in a very big way, so I had to put my singing career on hold a little, but I still continued to perform at weddings and selected venues,” she said. TV’S “DANCEHALL’S GOT TALENT” COMES TO NEW YORK CITY!

  By Cecelia Campbell-Livingston— Nikki Z to host upcoming talent show. Production on Dancehall’s Got Talent, a new television show scheduled to air in October, starts Friday in New York City. It will be broadcast on OmniPresent Media and OPM Digital Network. The show’s publicist, Malaika Lepine, says its objective is to expose new talent. “It gives opportunities for upcoming talent to really showcase and represent their culture in a way all reggae and dancehall music lovers can enjoy.” The 18-episode series will be hosted by Nicole ‘Nikki Z’ Duhaney. There are three judges: singer Ed Robinson, Irie Jam Radio’s DJ Roy and fashion personality Dougie Platinum.
