CHARLIE MURPHY, COMEDIAN AND BROTHER OF EDDIE, LOST HIS BATTLE WITH LEUKEMIA, AT AGE 57!

Charlie Murphy, Eddie‘s older brother, and a very successful and popular stand-up comedian in his own right has died … TMZ has learned. According to Charlie’s manager, he died from leukemia Wednesday morning in a NYC hospital. He’d been going undergoing chemotherapy. Family members tell us they’re absolutely shocked because they thought he was getting better. We’re told the family would call him frequently, and he’d even joke they were calling too much. Charlie famously co-starred on “Chappelle’s Show” in some of Dave’s most memorable skits … including the nights Charlie partied with Rick James and Prince. VP RECORDS TO RELEASE EDDIE MURPHY’S LATEST REGGAE SINGLE “OH JAH JAH” ON JANUARY 27!

Eddie Murphy— ACTOR Eddie Murphy is taking another crack at reggae, with the song “Oh Jah Jah” which is scheduled to be released January 27, by VPAL Classic, the digital arm of VP Records. Donovan Williams, VPAL’s manager, told the Jamaica Observer that Murphy produced the song which is describes as a “cultural track”. He said the actor’s “people reached out to us” to help market and promote the single, which is Murphy’s second reggae number in 18 months. In the summer of 2013, he teamed with rapper Scoop Dogg on the song “Red Light”. In 1993, Murphy collaborated with Grammy-winning deejay Shabba Ranks for the single, “When I Was King”.
