ZIGGY MARLEY TAKES IT TO THE TOP OF BILLBOARD REGGAE ALBUM CHART!

His sixth studio project, Ziggy Marley sold 5,493 copies in its first week. It also debuts at number 99 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, number 98 on the Dutch albums chart, and number 130 on the Belgium album chart. Released on May 20 via Tuff Gong Worldwide, the 12-track album is produced by Marley. ZIGGY MARLEY RELEASES HIS LATEST SINGLE “CECEIL!”

The song comes from the reggae musician’s upcoming sixth studio album By Mike Ayers— On Ziggy Marley’s new song “Ceceil,” the reggae musician is leaving it up to listeners to decide what it’s about. “It’s about many things,” Marley says. “I don’t want to tell the people what it’s about. I want people to get what they get from it.” The track premieres on Speakeasy below. The song comes from Marley’s upcoming self-titled sixth studio album, the follow-up to his 2014 Grammy-award winning LP “Fly Rasta.” For “Ceceil,” Marley points to African music as a particular influence, saying the rhythmic timing was a bit tricky. “Some of the musicians couldn’t get it at first,” he says. ZIGGY MARLEY IS ON A MUSICAL HIGH AFTER GRAMMY WIN!

 By Richard Johnson—  Ziggy Marley— REGGAE act Ziggy Marley has responded to criticism that his family automatically wins a Grammy Award once nominated. The 46-year-old became the most Grammy-decorated reggae artiste winning for his album Fly Rasta, on Sunday. The win earned him a total of four as a solo artiste, and an additional three with his sibling group, The Melody Makers. The Marley clan has gone home with the Golden Gramophone on 11 occasions since the reggae category was introduced in 1985. ZIGGY MARLEY WINS THE GRAMMY AWARD FOR “FLY RASTA!”

   Grammy winner Ziggy Marley— Ziggy Marley won his third solo Best Reggae Grammy at The Grammy Awards being held in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre. His set, the 10-track album, Fly Rasta . Marley, 46, got the nod over SOJA’s Amid the Noise; Sly & Robbie featuring Spicy Chocolate (The Reggae Power); Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry (Back on The Controls); Sean Paul (Full Frequency); and Shaggy (Out of Many, One Music). Marley’s first solo Grammy came in 2007 for Love is my Religion. Three years later, he won a Grammy for Best Musical Album for Children with Family Time. THE JAMAICA TOURIST BOARD TEAMS WITH ZIGGY MARLEY FOR THE “FLY RASTA” SUMMER TOUR!

Reggae fans across the United States can experience the Marley magic this summer as the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) has joined forces with Grammy Award winning reggae artist Ziggy Marley for his 2014 Fly Rasta North American Tour. The Fly Rasta album, released earlier this year, is the marriage of distinctive Jamaican reggae with elements of rock, funk, soul and pop. The tour started on July 19th and will run through August 24th.
