GEORGE NOOKS TO MAKE COURT APPEARANCE!

By K’Shema Francis—  Embattled gospel singer George Nooks is expected to go to court after he was reportedly found with just under two ounces of cocaine last week. During Music News last Monday, the 56-year-old entertainer professed to “Ride Out His Storm.” George Nooks is slated to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Wednesday, May 17. Narcotics detectives arrested and charged George Nooks for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act on Friday, May 5. According to CCU, about 9:00 p.m., lawmen were on operation in a community when they observed Nooks acting in a manner that arouse their suspicion. SINGER GEORGE NOOKS ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES!

 George Nooks—  Livern Barrett, Senior Gleaner Writer Reggae crooner George Nooks has been arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, law enforcement sources have revealed. Police sources say the 56-year-old entertainer was arrested in St Andrew yesterday after a plastic bag with a small quantity of white powdery substance, believed to be cocaine, was found in his 2016 Mercedes Benz sport utility vehicle. His most recent album, the gospel-inspired Ride Out Your Storm and single of the same name, both did well on the year-end charts. The album Ride Out Your Storm is number two for 2016. The album, which topped the chart for multiple weeks, also did well on the Billboard Reggae album and Gospel album charts. Released by Tads Records, Ride out Your Storm contains 15 tracks. It is Nooks’ first album in four years. It contains interpretations of George Harrison’s My Sweet Lord, Jim Reeves’ Precious Memories, Kenny Rogers’ Love Lifted Me, and Shirley Caesar’s I Remember Mama. GEORGE NOOKS RELEASES HIS COVER OF THE R&B CLASSIC “DON’T BURN YOUR BRIDGES BEHIND YOU” AS HIS LATEST SINGLE!

 George Nooks—- When George Nooks decided to record a song about the importance of gratitude, he covered the popular soul ballad, Don’t Burn Your Bridges Behind You. Nooks’ self-produced version was released in August by his Total Records. “In life you always have to look back and give thanks when you’re going up. Is a song I always love ‘cause the message is timeless,” he said. Originally recorded by American group, Ecstasy, Passion and Pain, Don’t Burn Your Bridges was released in 1974. It remains a staple on Jamaican radio and at ‘oldies’ dances.
