KEVIN ISAACS (GREGORY’S SON) RELEASES NEW SINGLE “TRUE LOVE STORY!”

Kevin Isaacs is a singer/songwriter from Kingston, Jamaica. Born on 9 September 1979, Kevin has been singing from the age of 13, his first song recorded at that age was entitled “Thought we were friends”. Kevin’s debut album, “Father & Son”, released in 2000 was an album featuring himself and his father the late great legendary reggae icon Gregory Isaacs, which was released on the Maritime label. Kevin has also completed a solo album which was written and produced by himself and his father, this album is soon to be released. AN ORDER OF DISTINCTION AWARD, A NEW ALBUM, A VALENTINE’S CONCERT FOR REGGAE LEGEND GREGORY ISAACS!

(Joseph Wellington) AN album of unreleased songs from Gregory Isaacs and a Valentine’s Day theme show are on the cards in 2017 for the late singer’s estate. His widow, June Isaacs, told the Jamaica Observer that the album will be distributed by Tads International Record, the independent label her husband had a long relationship with. In February, a live show dubbed ‘Red Rose For Gregory’ is scheduled for Kingston. American Rhythm & Blues group Atlantic Starr will be the featured act alongside harmony quartet LUST. June Isaacs said the album and show are just two of the projects to help keep ‘The Cool Ruler’s legacy vibrant. LONDON TO AWARD A “BLUE PLAQUE” TO GREGORY ISAACS’ FORMER RESIDENCE!

 LOVERS’ rock giant Gregory Isaacs, who had a massive following in England, will be honored with a Blue Plaque at the house in which he died in London six years ago. The plaque will be dedicated at 59 Weald Lane, Harrow, his widow June Isaacs told the Sunday Observer. “This mean’s a lot…I feel honored, very proud that Gregory has joined his predecessors Bob Marley and Dennis Brown being awarded his own Blue Plaque,” she said. The symbolic Blue Plaque has been placed at homes of famous people in Britain since the late 19th century. Among them are Marley, Brown, John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, poet Lord Byron, and authors Charles Dickens and Robert Louis Stevenson.  Isaacs was 60 when he died from cancer. The ‘Cool Ruler’, who died in October 2010, has been awarded the Order of Distinction (officer class) by the Jamaican Government for his contribution to the country’s music. The Sunday Observer caught up with the singer’s widow June, who is delighted that her husband’s achievements have been recognized. “I really want to thank the Government for recognizing his contribution to Jamaica. CLIVE CHIN TO RELEASE “THE LOST ARCHIVES OF STUDIO 17” TRIBUTE TO THE RANDY’S AND THE IMPACT LABELS!

 Clive Chin— AS a teenager, Clive Chin witnessed what became some of the most pivotal recording sessions in reggae at his father Vincent’s Studio 17 in downtown Kingston. By the early 1970s, Chin began producing songs for the family’s Randy’s label and his own Impact imprint. He plans to release songs from the latter this summer. The songs will be part of a compilation series called The Lost Archives Of Studio 17. It will contain tracks by Augustus Pablo, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs and John Holt, as well as an instrumental album from Trinidadian guitarist Lynn Taitt. “What is important to me is that the Randy’s legacy lives on. ROCK LEGEND KEITH RICHARDS, PAYS TRIBUTE TO GREGORY ISAACS IN NEW RELEASE!

 Keith Richards— Stylistically, Gregory Isaacs and Keith Richards were worlds apart. Isaacs’ suave vocal delivery earned him the moniker the ‘Cool Ruler. Richards’ eccentric mannerisms inspired Johnny Depps’ Jack Sparrow character in the hit movie franchise Pirates of The Caribbean. Last week, the Rolling Stones guitarist released the video to his cover of Love is Overdue, one of Isaacs’ many hit songs. The song is from Crosseyed Heart, Richards’ first solo album in over 20 years.
