By Richard Johnson—- Rootz Underground—– REGGAE band Rootz Underground has experienced mixed reaction to efforts to raise capital for their latest recording. The band opted to utilise the crowd-funding platform Indiegogo to raise the US$45,000 needed to release and promote their third studio album which celebrates their 14th year together. However, yesterday, with mere hours left before the offer expired, the band had only raised 10 per cent of their target and were at US$4,338. Lead vocalist Stephen Newland told the Jamaica Observer, that although they are disappointed, the band is still grateful for the “nuff little”. “For a first-timer to raise 10 per cent of their goal is good.
