Dancehall’s Platinum duo  Platinum Kids comprising Paul (left) and Marcus Gavin.. WHAT started as a hobby turned out to be a fruitful career for sibling disc jockey/selectors Marcus and Paul Gavin, known in New York party circles as the Platinum Kids. The Manchester-born brothers host the popular Irie Fridays show on Irie Jam Radio in Queens. Their gigs range from house parties to clubs, drawing 3,000 or more fans. Recently they wrapped a five-city trip of the United States with deejay Aidonia and did gigs with Mighty Crown, Fire Links, I-Octane, Jahmiel, Konshens, and Elephant Man. DANCEHALL STAR KONSHENS, DONATES WATER TO FLINT, MICHIGAN!

 By Howard Campbell—  Konshens— KONSHENS has donated 100 cases of water to the city of Flint, Michigan, where a corrosive water system has affected thousands of people. The deejay told the Jamaica Observer that he heard about the developments in Flint through a friend and newscasts. He decided to help through an initiative launched by the Irie Jam radio station in Queens, New York. “I decided to chip in. I think many people making small donations like mine will really make a difference, that’s a method we should employ in Jamaica as well, instead of waiting on one man or a big company to do something.
