THE MARCIA GRIFFITHS AND FRIENDS UK TOUR IS BACK ON AGAIN!

 Marcia Griffiths (right) seen here with fellow I-Three Judy Mowatt.— THE on-again, off-again ‘Marcia Griffiths and Friends’ shows in the United Kingdom, have been rescheduled for late April at four venues. Copeland Forbes, who is organizing the shows, told the Jamaica Observer that Griffiths, Judy Mowatt, Bob Andy, Tanya Stephens and Richie Spice are confirmed for the gigs, which take place at O2 Shepherds Bush Empire (August 28), O2 Academy in Birmingham (August 29), O2 Academy in Leeds (August 30), and O2 Academy in Bristol on August 31. The acts will be backed by the 809 Band. The shows had been cancelled twice: last September when promoters failed to attract sufficient sponsorship, and in May when the artists had a falling-out with promoter Malinnga Tejan-Sie.    After over a year of performing the Marcia Griffiths’ and Friends World Tour, Veteran Reggae artist Marcia Griffiths is now quite perturbed as events slated for England this week face imminent postponement. The four shows slated from May 14-17, at the O2 Academy venues in Leeds, Bristol, Birmingham and London have hit a standstill, as most of the necessary artists arrangements have not been made to date. “I’ve never experienced anything like this; I’ve never disappointed any audience especially in London because they have always showed love to me from the years of Bob and Marcia. JAMAICA JAZZ & BLUES 2015 KICKS OFF TONIGHT WITH A TRIBUTE TO JOHN HOLT!

THE JAMAICA JAZZ & BLUES FESTIVAL TO HONOR JOHN HOLT JANUARY 29!

John Holt—– ORGANISERS of the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival have tapped some of reggae music’s finest to present a tribute to late singer John Holt. The festival is scheduled for the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium from January 29-31. The tribute, however, will be on the opening night. The line-up includes singers Errol Dunkley, George Nooks, Judy Mowatt, Cornell Campbell, vocal group The Tamlins, deejay Josey Wales and soca singer Oscar B, all backed by Lloyd Parks and We The People Band. Each act will dedicate part of their sets to Holt.   Holt hailed from Greenwich Town, a fishing community in Kingston, with a rich music heritage.
