NEW YORK-BASED PRODUCER JAH MIKE, LOOKS TO JAMAICA FOR A HIT!

Like most reggae players in the Big Apple he wants a hit song “a yaad”. “To get a hit in Jamaica while working in New York is a big deal because Jamaica is the heart of reggae music; all the great musicians and artistes are living there and a lot of producers are there as well,” he said. “If any song hit in Jamaica, it hits the world.” Known as Jah Mike, Coburn operates Reggae Vibes Productions. KYMANI MARLEY TO HEADLINE “DUBAI REGGAE BEACHFEST” FEBRUARY 10!

 Ky-Mani Marley— Ky-Mani Marley will headline the February 10 Reggae Beachfest in Dubai to mark his father’s 72nd birthday. The show is scheduled for the Dubai International Marine Club, promoter Kenya Don told the Sunday Observer. It is the fourth staging of the event which celebrates the work of Bob Marley, who was born on February 6, 1945 and died May 11, 1981. “Dubai is growing as the multicultural destination, and our motto is to unite multiple cultures through music, food and entertainment,” read a release from organizers of Reggae Beachfest. KYMANI MARLEY SIGNS DISTRIBUTION DEAL WITH VPAL!

 Ky-Mani Marley— KY-MANI Marley has signed a deal with VP Records’ subsidiary VPAL to distribute his album Maestro in Europe. Donovan Williams, label manager at VPAL, said the set will be released in March digitally — on compact disc and vinyl. The 11-track Maestro was released last June by Marley’s Konfrontation Muzic. In an interview with the Jamaica Observer in November, the 39-year-old singer said Europe is his strongest market, particularly France.   Maestro includes the songs Get High and All The Way. Launched in 2009, VPAL partners with artists and producers to distribute their music through VP’s network of 600 online and mobile destinations in 100 territories. The company earns a percentage of sales. Last year VPAL distributed albums such as Israel Vibration’s Play It Real,Urban Poet from Junior Kelly, and Diamond Sox by Iba Mahr. … Read entire article »
